The tree of life x Basquiat
Excellent
L'œuvre en bref
In this powerful version of The Tree of Life, Basquiat's raw energy and graphic codes transform the age-old symbol into a contemporary manifesto. The black tree, twisted and branched, emerges from a tumult of colour and graffiti, like a primitive cry against the collapse of the world. At the foot of the trunk, a skull - a recurring figure for the artist - reminds us that all life is rooted in death. It's a vibrant, anarchic tribute, in which every scribbled word becomes a vein of urban sap.Comparez avec l’original
