In this gigantic mural, Robert Delaunay presents a synopsis of the major motifs and themes running through his artistic work. This work was created to decorate the French Railway Pavilion at the Paris World Fair. It is a work of the Orphic movement, a mixture of cubism and abstraction, and an important avant-garde movement in the early 20th century. Delaunay also painted Champs-de-Mars, the Red Tower and Eiffel Tower and Garden of the Champs de Mars, also depicting the Eiffel Tower in an abstract way.
